Golden Hour Family Shoot in Hampshire
When Elliott and Chantelle booked me for their wedding photography next year, they decided to combine their engagement session with a golden hour family shoot in Hampshire and I couldn’t have been happier!
We planned an evening at the stunning Meon Shore on the south coast, followed by a gorgeous wheat field nearby. It was the perfect opportunity for them to get used to being in front of the camera, get to know me better, and get a little preview of what it will be like on their wedding day.
But more than that, this was about creating beautiful, natural portraits of them as a family. They’d never had professional photos taken all together before, and as a beautiful blended family, each with a daughter from a previous marriage, it felt extra special to capture this chapter of their lives. The girls are the best of friends, full of giggles and energy, and their bond shines in every photo.
Natural moments at golden hour
We began the golden hour family shoot in Hampshire along the beach stretch at Meon Shore. The soft evening light was reflecting off the water, wrapping them in a dreamy glow. They walked hand in hand, laughing, chatting, and occasionally stopping for a cuddle; the kind of natural interactions that make for timeless family photographs.
From there, we made our way to a nearby wheat field. The tall golden stems, the soft breeze, and the last rays of sunshine gave the photos a warm, romantic feel. The girls loved running through the field, while Elliott and Chantelle enjoyed a few quiet moments together, surrounded by that perfect golden light. It was the ideal example of Hampshire golden hour family photography at its best.

The light just before sunset is soft and flattering, avoiding harsh shadows and giving everything that warm, magical glow. It was lovely having her there, and we made such a great team while keeping the shoot fun and easygoing for the family.
